When you rent space at the Museum for your event, you’ll have access to:

  • Designated outdoor areas for your ceremony and reception
  • The iconic Covered Bridge and historic sawmill site for photo opportunities
  • Use of the Visitor Center and/or select buildings depending on event needs
  • Parking space for guests
  • On-site staff or volunteer support during setup and/or the event
  • Time before and after your event for setup and breakdown

Things to Know

  • Capacity: The space is best suited for small to mid-size events, but flexible based on your plans.
  • Rentals: Tents, chairs, tables, and restroom facilities (if needed) must be arranged separately. We’re happy to recommend local vendors.
  • Accessibility: While rustic, some areas are accessible or can be adapted for accessibility.
  • Power & Lighting: Some buildings and areas have generator power. Talk to us about your power needs in advance.
  • Alcohol & Music: Permitted with appropriate permissions and insurance.

Museum Site Rentals

Host your special event in a truly unique and historic setting at the Maine Forest & Logging Museum. Below are the details to help you plan your visit.

Rental Rates & Availability

  • Base Rate: $500 per day (daylight hours only)
Events must conclude by sunset, including cleanup and removal of items. The museum grounds do not have lighting.
  • Optional Add-On:
    • $100 for additional use of grounds:
      • Day before (setup or rehearsal)
      • Day after (chair pickup or additional breakdown time)

Security Deposit & Cleanup Policy

  • Refundable Security Deposit: $200
Required to cover damages or cleanup costs.
Grounds must be left in the condition found. Any remaining items or trash may result in deductions from the deposit.
  • User Responsibilities:
    • All items brought to the site must be removed.
    • The museum is not responsible for damage to your rental items (tents, chairs, decorations, etc.).

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Down Payment: 50% of total rental fee due at booking
Includes a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your date.
  • Remaining Balance:
    • Due 2 weeks before the event
    • Must be accompanied by a separate check for the refundable security deposit
